This popular venue provides good
brown trout fishing with over
5000 takeable trout stocked
throughout the season. It is a
sheltered limestone lough with
hatches of chironomids, olives,
sedges, even some mayfly, and a good fall of
terrestrial insects giving rise to
some excellent evening fishing to
the dry fly. A good ploy is to fish a dry Mayfly, Gnat, Buzzer or Sedge according to season if the trout start showing at the surface in the evening. A surfaced path
surrounds the lake and angling
stands have been provided. Care
should be taken when wading the
bay in the south east corner by
the car park as the bottom is soft
and boggy in places.
