Ballycastle Angling Club manages this fishery on behalf of DCAL. The Club issues 18 daily tickets free to holders of DCAL Adult and Juvenile Annual Game Season Permits. Six tickets are issued for the River Margy between the river mouth and the confluence of the Carey River and six tickets are issued for the rivers upstream of the confluence. Day Tickets are available from Mr D McAuley, Moyle Outdoor Angling and Leisure, 17 Castle Street Ballycastle, Co Antrim and Mr R Bell, Ann Street, Ballycastle, Co Antrim. The Margy River and tributaries are noted sea trout fisheries with a run of salmon late in the season. Fishing on the Margy is almost entirely from the right bank by agreement with the riparian owner, Ballycastle Golf Club. Anglers should therefore have particular regard to golfers’ interests. On certain days each year, during competitions, fishing from the golf course will be restricted. Notices will be posted. The Ballycastle Club has established a hatchery to supplement salmon and sea trout stocks and fishing has improved in recent years. The Club has provided good access throughout the fishery.
